Time to sell your home? Here are some quick and inexpensive tips to help get your home sold asap.
1. Time to get rid of that purple bathroom and paint over it with a neutral beige color. Although you're sad to see the purple go, it's for a good cause. Neutral paint colors should be throughout your home.
2. Get rid of the brass kitchen cupboard cabinet and drawer pulls and update them in a brushed nickel. This will update your entire kitchen, is inexpensive, and can be found at Home Depot or Lowe's. You don't need to be handy to do this either.
3. Change out major light fixtures. You can pick up a new light fixture at Home Depot (and no, I'm not a paid spokesman for them). With as little as $50-$75, you can change a room with new lighting.
4. Replace any gold or outdated bathroom fixtures with brushed nickel. Again, fairly inexpensive and can be found at a hardware store or online.
5. Get all new stainless steel appliances for your kitchen. This is the most expensive option on this list, but I promise you that it'll help sell your home the quickest. Right now buyers are extremely picky and if you have older appliances in your kitchen - that might be a deal-breaker. It's worth the cost and you'll recoup it.
6. De-clutter and take out all personal items such as: family photos, knick-knacks, collectibles, etc. Think of this de-cluttering as a head-start to your move. Pack them away and move to another location (family members basement, storage facility, etc.)
7. Add potted flowers to your front step for curb appeal.
8. Make sure any issues that require repairs are done BEFORE you put your home on the market. You only get 1 chance to make an impression on buyers.
9. Have your carpets professionally cleaned. If they're in rough shape, you may have to consider replacing those that need it. But most of the time, a professional cleaning will do the trick.
10. Organize closets. All buyers will be looking in your closets. Pack away any clothes that are out of season to give you more room and make it look like you have plenty of storage in your home.
Good luck!
